UK holidays are becoming more and more popular with the great british public. To reflect 'the comeback of the Great British Holiday', Channel 4 recently showed a documentary around the UK holiday experience at Park Resorts. Undercover Boss was shown at 9pm on Thursday 18th June on Channel 4, and really got to the roots of what happens behind the scenes.
Marketing Director, Andy Edge, went undercover at 2 of our Holiday Parks, posing as an entertainer, cook, cleaner and maintenance staff to uncover what really happens on our Parks. The programme was filmed over several weeks last year and reflects the great british Holiday Park experience.
So, what's happened one year on…?
Sean, the hard-working and endearing chef at Breydon Water in Norfolk, is back in the kitchen and working hard on his NVQ qualification. Sean is over the moon with the outcome of Andy’s undercover visit and is looking forward to a bright future in catering.
Fiona, the Accommodation Manager at Lower Hyde on the Isle of Wight, had done a fantastic job of turning around the cleaning and staffing processes on Park and was a credit to Park Resorts. Although delighted that her hard work was so clearly appreciated, Fiona decided, for personal reasons, to go back to her previous profession of running her own pub on the Island. Fiona is very happy and, should her circumstances change, she would certainly consider a move back to Park Resorts in the future.
Maxine, the less than enthusiastic Accommodation Manager at Breydon Water, was subsequently offered a more suitable position working on reception. Maxine now enjoys her job and achieves much greater job satisfaction working on reception at Park Resorts.
Adrian, who was previously in charge of maintenance at Breydon Water, is now the Accommodation Manager there and has turned around the way the team work. It is now a much more motivated and enthusiastic accommodation team, working towards higher standards of cleanliness in all accommodation.
Behind Park Resorts' decision to take part in the programme was our commitment to improving standards and delivering an excellent level of customer service. It was a great experience for Andy and the teams on Park, and has further strengthened our commitment to improving the experience for our holidaymakers and owners.
If you are new to Park Resorts, or to the great british holiday experience, please feel free to browse our website for more information about what's on, accommodation and holiday availability. With a scorching summer predicted, and great value prices, what better reasons are there to stay in the UK. But hurry, summer school holidays are getting booked up fast.
We hope to welcome you onto one of our 37 Holiday Parks soon.
